When was the last time you saw a movie or TV programme that really inspired you to look at the environment in a different way? Did you become more aware of nature? Did you think more about a problem facing our surroundings? Or maybe you felt there was something you could do in your daily life to bring about change?

Well the EU Commission in Ireland, Cultivate and Darklight are inviting you to make a short movie on "Your Environment". The theme could be anything from climate change to positive steps that we can take to protect our local environment. The choice is yours.

Journalists speak only one language, and that's their own. If you're going to reach them you have to speak that language too. This means that your press release should mimic the format and style of a news story. It's a simple and straightforward formula and (sorry to be dictatorial) it MUST be applied. If it isn't, your press release won't work. Period.

During Cultivate's Dublin Culture Night event of Friday September 14th, 2007, Davie Philip asked Albert Bates a number of the hard questions about how we respond to Peak Oil.

Albert Bates (born January 1, 1947) is an influential figure in the intentional community and ecovillage movements. A lawyer, author and teacher, he has been director of the Institute for Appropriate Technology since 1984 and of the Ecovillage Training Center at The Farm in Summertown, Tennessee since 1994.
